London City Airport to introduce the UK’s first digital air traffic control tower

London City Airport is to become the first UK airport to install a digital air traffic control tower – operational in 2019 - according to a press release today.

NATS, the UK’s leading provider of air traffic control services, endorses the decision to replace the existing 30-year old control tower with a digital tower, developed by Saab Digital Air Traffic Solutions, a company owned by LFV and Saab.
